What Was The Paris Climate Change Agreement

The Global Climate Action Summit is taking place. Leaders of states and regions, cities, businesses, investors and civil society are calling on national governments to join forces to strengthen climate action before 2020 – the year in which global greenhouse gases must fall sharply to avoid the worst effects of climate change. The United Nations has released a new emissions report stating that even if all current climate plans are implemented, temperatures are expected to rise by 3.2°C, leading to even deeper and more destructive climate impacts. Collective ambition must be multiplied by more than current levels to achieve the reductions needed for the 1.5°C target over the next decade. Now more than ever, it`s time for world leaders to tackle the climate crisis. At COP25, WWF will work with U.S. leaders working to address the climate crisis to show that the U.S. will do its part. WWF will host them at the U.S. Climate Action Center and provide an important place to showcase their leadership, innovation, and collaboration. As the Wall Street Journal wrote this morning, “the reality is that the retreat is in America`s economic interest and won`t make much sense for the climate.” The United States will continue to be the cleanest and most environmentally friendly country under the Trump administration. We will be the cleanest.

We will have the purest air. We will have the cleanest water. We will be environmentally friendly, but we will not put our businesses out of work and we will not lose our jobs. We will grow; we will grow rapidly. Maintaining the agreement could also be serious obstacles for the United States if we begin the process of lifting restrictions on America`s abundant energy reserves, which we have started very strongly. It would have been unthinkable that an international agreement could prevent the United States from conducting its own internal affairs, but this is the new reality we face if we don`t leave the deal or negotiate a much better deal. .
